Our babies enjoy a calm, nurturing floor created just for them. With cosy lighting, sensory play zones, and plenty of cuddles, it’s the perfect setting to build confidence and form strong, secure bonds with familiar adults.
For toddlers and preschoolers, our open-plan rooms and large garden offer endless opportunities to learn and discover. From water play to bug hunts and messy art masterpieces, every day is full of experiences that spark imagination, creativity, and independence.
And we don’t just stay inside our walls — we’re always out and about! Whether we’re exploring the wide-open spaces of Hudson’s Field or heading further afield on mini adventures, our children get to experience the world around them in real and exciting ways.

Baby Retreat
At Finkley Hudson’s Field, our youngest children enjoy their very own dedicated floor — a calm, nurturing space designed especially for babies and toddlers up to 2 years old. With homely touches, soft lighting and a peaceful atmosphere, it’s the perfect place for little ones to feel safe, secure, and truly settled from day one.
Every detail has been carefully thought through with babies in mind — from cosy sleep zones and sensory corners to low-level resources that support early movement, curiosity, and discovery. Whether they’re enjoying tummy time with their key worker, snuggled up with a story, or exploring textures and sounds, every moment is filled with gentle learning through play.
Our caring, highly trained team follow each child’s individual routine, making sure naps, feeds, and activities mirror home life as closely as possible. Relationships are everything here — and we work in close partnership with families to create a smooth, supportive start to nursery life.
And just because they’re little doesn’t mean they miss out on big adventures. Thanks to our six-seater baby bus, we head out regularly for gentle walks and mini outings — giving our babies fresh air, new sights, and calm experiences beyond the nursery walls.
With their own floor and a whole world of discovery around them, our babies enjoy a peaceful, playful start to life at Finkley.
When my daughter started Hudson's Field Nursery at 1 year old, we both suffered severe separation anxiety from each other. My daughter took quite a while to settle into nursery, but with the help of the amazing staff, we finally cracked it. She has grown so much confidence since being at nursery, and seeing all the photos of her playing nicely with her friends or of her on her outings really makes my day. I would recommend Hudson's Field Nursery to anybody that asked me; it really is a fantastic place with the most amazing staff!
Explorers Zone
At Finkley Hudson’s Field, our Preschool Floor is a vibrant, spacious environment where children aged two and up come together to play, learn, and thrive. By welcoming two-year-olds into the same space as older preschoolers, we create a real sense of continuity — no room moves, no sudden changes, just solid friendships and consistent routines that grow with your child.
This mixed-age approach is packed with benefits. Younger children learn by watching and joining in with older peers, while preschoolers naturally develop empathy, leadership and a sense of responsibility. It’s a nurturing, close-knit community where every child is known, valued, and supported to learn at their own pace.
And the learning doesn’t stop at the door. Our Preschool children are out and about all the time — exploring Hudson Field, visiting local care homes to build intergenerational friendships, and heading off to places like Sarum Castle to bring history to life. Whether it’s a community walk or a hands-on nature expedition, we believe in real-world learning that fuels confidence and curiosity.
Inside, the Preschool Floor buzzes with imagination. From early literacy and numeracy to messy play, construction, role play and creative arts, every activity is shaped by the EYFS framework — and by your child’s own unique interests and stage of development.

I cannot speak highly enough of this nursery. The staff are outstanding, and my child absolutely loves attending. Their confidence has grown so much and the variety of activities, including trips out into the community, is amazing. The nursery really takes the time to get to know the children and support them as individuals. A warm, caring environment with great leadership.
Finkley Adventures
Finkley Adventures is where nursery life meets the real world — a daily chance for children to step beyond the classroom and explore everything their local community has to offer. Whether it’s a ride in our 8-seater nursery bus or a stroll over to Hudson Field, these regular outings are a much-loved part of life at Finkley Hudson’s Field.
From making friends at local care homes to climbing castle grounds, playing games in wide open spaces, or popping into the local shops, our children are constantly out and about — engaging with people, places, and experiences that build confidence and bring learning to life.
Every trip is carefully planned to offer something fresh: new sights, new skills, and meaningful moments that connect children with the world around them. These aren’t just excursions — they’re real-life learning opportunities that help children grow in independence, curiosity, and self-belief.
Alongside our experienced team, children learn how to move safely in new environments, develop social awareness, and build a lasting connection to their community — all through joyful, hands-on adventures.

Hudson's Field is an amazing nursery. The staff are so supportive and always go the extra mile. My daughter loves the variety of activities, especially the walks and trips they go on. It’s been wonderful to see her grow in confidence and talk about her adventures at home!
Outdoor Play & Garden
At Finkley Hudson’s Field, our garden isn’t just a place to let off steam — it’s a living, breathing extension of the classroom. Out here, imaginations run wild, bodies grow strong, and children connect with nature in joyful, hands-on ways every single day.
From the moment they step outside, children are invited to climb, dig, build, balance, and explore. The garden is purposely designed to offer variety and choice — with quiet corners for storytelling and reflection, plus active zones for bikes, obstacle courses, and water play. Rain or shine, there’s always something new to discover.
Outdoor play isn’t an add-on — it’s central to how we learn. It builds confidence, coordination, and independence. It supports wellbeing, boosts resilience, and encourages teamwork. And, most importantly, it gives children the space to be themselves — to think big, move freely, and make their own decisions.
Our garden is also a gateway to the natural world. Children help plant flowers and vegetables, watch the seasons change, and spot bugs, birds, and bees as they go. These real-world experiences help build a lifelong love of the outdoors — and spark curiosity that lasts far beyond nursery life.

My daughter has been at the nursery since November 2024, throughout that time I have nothing but amazing things to say about Finkley Hudson's Field Nursery. The outdoor space is fantastic, and she loves the variety of activities they do outside. The staff are always friendly and supportive, making sure the children are engaged and happy. It's wonderful to see her enthusiasm when she talks about her day.
Soft Play
Our purpose-built Soft Play at Finkley Hudson’s Field is a space like no other — specially designed just for us to support the physical, emotional, and sensory needs of all our children. Safe, stimulating, and packed with fun, it gives children the freedom to climb, crawl, bounce, and explore — building strength, coordination, and confidence through joyful movement.
Whether they’re scaling soft steps, diving into the ball pit, navigating tunnels, or inventing games with friends, children are developing vital skills without even realising it. Our soft play area is a firm favourite across the nursery — a place where energy is embraced, challenges are conquered, and everyone is included.
Created with support for children with additional needs in mind, this space offers a calm and safe environment that promotes body awareness, balance, and early risk-taking in a way that’s both supportive and engaging. The varied textures, lighting, and layout offer sensory stimulation that helps children self-regulate, feel secure, and thrive.
It’s also a fantastic setting for teamwork and social development — encouraging turn-taking, problem-solving, and imaginative role play, all under the careful guidance of our experienced practitioners.

Hudson's Field is a fantastic nursery. The team are brilliant with the children and the facilities are excellent. My son especially loves the soft play sessions and always comes home smiling and worn out from his day. He’s grown in confidence, and we’re so grateful to the staff for their care and energy.

Nursery Education Funding
We are approved providers of the early years educational grant for eligible 9-month-olds, 2-year-olds, 3-year-olds, and 4-year-olds. We will provide you with all the necessary information and parent declaration forms to complete as your child becomes eligible. However it is your responsibility to apply for your funding code from the government and renew this as required
Please note that this funding covers education only and does not include additional costs such as sundries, activities, visits, and hot meals. Therefore, an optional daily charge may apply for these extras. Details on this can be provided by the Nursery Manager.

Payment Terms
- Fees are annualised, Invoices remain the same, including when the nursery is closed for bank holidays and training days. Fees are calculated over 51 weeks, ensuring parents are not charged for the Christmas break.
- Fees are payable monthly in advance by the 1st of each month. Payments received later than the 4th of the month will incur a 10% late payment penalty.
- All fees must be paid by Direct Debit, Tax free childcare or childcare vouchers unless pre-authorised.
- All sessions contracted for must be paid for, No reductions are made for time off due to holidays, sickness or other absences. You can book additional sessions if the setting has the availability to accommodate them. Two months written notice is required if you wish to cancel your child’s place or reduce/change their sessions.
Registration & Deposit
- A non-refundable administration fee of £55 is required to register your child. This covers the costs of setting your child up on our waiting list system.
- A £100 deposit is required to hold the place. This deposit is refunded off your last bill subject to the nursery account being up to date. Should this deposit be used to hold a space where only entitlement hours are used and no optional extras or extra hours or food then it is refunded off the first full months bill.
- If the parent postpones the start date after confirmation, Finkley Nurseries reserves the right to charge from the original agreed start date.
Staff Training Closure Days
The nursery is closed for 2 formal staff training days per year. The staff training days for 2026 are Friday 24th April 2026 and Thursday 15th October 2026.
Christmas Closure Days
We close over the Christmas Period, with our last day open before Christmas being Tuesday 22nd December 2026, and we are back open on Monday 4th January 2027. The bank holiday dates during the Christmas closure are 25th December 2026, 28th December 2026 and 1st January 2027.
Bank Holiday Closure Days
The Nursery is closed for Bank Holidays. These days are chargeable. The Bank Holidays for 2026 (excluding Christmas and New Year) are as follows:
