Purpose-designed with children at its heart, our nursery offers babies, toddlers and preschoolers the very best start in life within a safe, inspiring environment full of possibility. Following our transition from Little Druids into the Finkley Nurseries family, we bring together everything that worked well with a refreshed vision, enhanced environments and a strong focus on outstanding early years care.
Inside, our open-plan rooms are bright, spacious and thoughtfully set up to support hands-on learning. Children are free to explore activities that ignite curiosity and creativity – from water play and imaginative role play to arts and crafts, baking, construction and small-world play. We are also proud to offer specialist spaces, including a dedicated building room and a music room, giving children even more opportunities to express themselves and develop new skills.
Our baby room provides a calm, nurturing space tailored around individual routines and needs, with sensory play areas, cosy corners and plenty of warm, one-to-one interaction from a familiar and caring team.
Older children thrive in our stimulating learning environments, where independence, imagination and confidence are encouraged every day. Outdoor play is a key part of our daily rhythm, supporting physical development, wellbeing and a love of being active. We also make regular visits to Solstice Soft Play next door, giving children the freedom to run off steam, build confidence and simply have fun in a lively, engaging space. Beyond this, we enjoy venturing further afield on outings that broaden children’s experiences and bring learning to life.

Baby Room
Our Baby Zone is a calm, welcoming space created especially for our youngest children, where comfort, routine and nurturing care sit at the heart of every day. With homely touches and a peaceful atmosphere, this area provides a secure environment where babies can settle confidently and form strong, trusting attachments with their key carers.
The space is thoughtfully designed to support early development, with sensory areas, cosy corners and carefully chosen resources that encourage exploration through touch, sound and movement. From tummy time and treasure baskets to stories, songs and quiet moments of connection, every experience is guided by each baby’s individual interests and stage of development.
Our experienced team follow each child’s routine closely, ensuring feeds, naps and play mirror home life as much as possible. We work in genuine partnership with families, sharing milestones, celebrating progress and creating a smooth, reassuring start to nursery life built on trust and open communication. To extend learning beyond the room, babies also enjoy gentle outings in our specialist six-seater push-along buses, offering fresh air, new sights and calm experiences beyond the nursery walls.
Our eldest enjoyed Finkley Amesbury from baby to school and now our youngest has started his journey there too. The staff at Finkley Amesbury are fantastic and welcoming and care for every child as the individuals they are. Our children have thrived at Finkley Amesbury. With barely a backwards glance at drop-off and great relationships with the other children and staff, I know they are happy at the nursery too.
Toddler / Pre School Room
The Explorers Zone is designed for curious, energetic children who are eager to move, investigate and make sense of the world around them. This bright, engaging environment supports growing independence while offering structure, reassurance and plenty of opportunity for hands-on learning within a thoughtfully mixed-age setting.
We intentionally mix ages in this room to allow children to build strong bonds over longer periods of time. Younger children learn by observing and playing alongside their older peers, while older children develop confidence, empathy and leadership as they support and model positive behaviours. This creates a nurturing, family-style atmosphere where children feel secure, valued and connected.
Children are encouraged to explore freely, choosing from activities that promote language development, physical movement, problem-solving and imaginative play. From messy play and role play to construction and creative experiences, every area is carefully planned to stretch thinking, build confidence and support key early skills. As children grow, learning naturally becomes more purposeful, with opportunities to develop focus, independence and resilience.
Alongside play-led learning, we gently introduce school readiness within this space, supporting children to build the skills they need for their next step. Through routines, self-care, listening skills and early literacy and numeracy experiences, children are confidently prepared for the transition to school, all at a pace that feels right for them. Through strong relationships, consistent routines and positive guidance, children in the Explorers Zone grow in confidence every day, laying strong foundations for future learning.
My daughter has been going to Finkley Amesbury since she was 6 months old and absolutely loves it there. Planning to send our second too soon. The variety of activities the children do on a day-to-day basis is great, the staff is very friendly and the food menu is varied and healthy.
Soft Play
At Finkley Amesbury, our close relationship with Solstice Soft Play next door gives children regular access to a vibrant, energetic environment designed for movement, exploration and fun. These sessions are a valued part of our routine, offering children the freedom to climb, crawl, slide and run in a space that encourages confidence, coordination and physical strength in a way that indoor rooms alone cannot.
Soft play supports so much more than physical development. As children navigate equipment, take turns and play alongside their friends, they naturally build social skills, resilience and self-belief. Whether it’s mastering a new challenge, laughing together, or simply burning off energy, every visit is carefully planned to be both purposeful and joyful.
Our team use these sessions to extend learning, support individual needs and encourage children to challenge themselves at their own pace. For many children, soft play is where confidence soars and where learning happens through movement, laughter and shared experience.
My son has been going to this nursery for just over a year and he's come on so much. The staff are really lovely and always happy to answer any questions I have about his development. The handovers are great, and he absolutely loves going to nursery. I never have any worries when he's there as I know he's being really well looked after.
The Great Outdoors
Outdoor play is a vital part of daily life at Finkley Amesbury, giving children the space and freedom to explore, move and learn in the fresh air. Our outdoor environments are viewed as a true extension of the nursery, thoughtfully planned to support physical development, emotional wellbeing and a natural curiosity about the world around them.
We are proud to offer two purpose-built gardens, recently designed, built and commissioned specifically to support high-quality outdoor learning. These spaces provide a rich variety of experiences, from climbing, balancing and energetic physical play to quieter moments of discovery, mark making and imaginative exploration. Being outdoors allows children to take managed risks, build resilience and develop confidence in their own abilities.
We also enjoy taking learning beyond the nursery walls, with regular trips and outings that help children connect with the wider community and world around them. Whether children are exploring new environments, enjoying fresh air or sharing adventures with friends, outdoor learning plays a powerful role in supporting happy, healthy and confident children.
My grandson goes to the nursery and he is doing really great, my grandson has special needs and the nursery are fantastic with him. He can be really challenging most days and they cope with him really well. They supply all the resources he needs to be able to learn and develop how he should. Can't fault the staff they are all really supportive.

Nursery Education Funding
We are approved providers of the early years educational grant for eligible 9-month-olds, 2-year-olds, 3-year-olds, and 4-year-olds. We will provide you with all the necessary information and parent declaration forms to complete as your child becomes eligible. However it is your responsibility to apply for your funding code from the government and renew this as required
Please note that this funding covers education only and does not include additional costs such as sundries, activities, visits, and hot meals. Therefore, an optional daily charge may apply for these extras. Details on this can be provided by the Nursery Manager.

Payment Terms
- Fees are annualised, Invoices remain the same, including when the nursery is closed for bank holidays and training days. Fees are calculated over 51 weeks, ensuring parents are not charged for the Christmas break.
- Fees are payable monthly in advance by the 1st of each month. Payments received later than the 4th of the month will incur a 10% late payment penalty.
- All fees must be paid by Direct Debit, Tax free childcare or childcare vouchers unless pre-authorised.
- All sessions contracted for must be paid for, No reductions are made for time off due to holidays, sickness or other absences. You can book additional sessions if the setting has the availability to accommodate them. Two months written notice is required if you wish to cancel your child’s place or reduce/change their sessions.
Registration & Deposit
- A non-refundable administration fee of £55 is required to register your child. This covers the costs of setting your child up on our waiting list system.
- A £100 deposit is required to hold the place. This deposit is refunded off your last bill subject to the nursery account being up to date. Should this deposit be used to hold a space where only entitlement hours are used and no optional extras or extra hours or food then it is refunded off the first full months bill.
- If the parent postpones the start date after confirmation, Finkley Nurseries reserves the right to charge from the original agreed start date.
Staff Training Closure Days
The nursery is closed for 2 formal staff training days per year. The staff training days for 2026 are Friday 24th April 2026 and Thursday 15th October 2026.
Christmas Closure Days
We close over the Christmas Period, with our last day open before Christmas being Tuesday 22nd December 2026, and we are back open on Monday 4th January 2027. The bank holiday dates during the Christmas closure are 25th December 2026, 28th December 2026 and 1st January 2027.
Bank Holiday Closure Days
The Nursery is closed for Bank Holidays. These days are chargeable. The Bank Holidays for 2026 (excluding Christmas and New Year) are as follows:

Term Time Closures
The Nursery is closed to Term Time only children on the following dates:
- Spring Half Term: Monday 16th February to Friday 20th February 2026
- Easter Holidays: Monday 30th March to Friday 10th April 2026
- May Half Term: Monday 25th May to Friday 29th May 2026
- Summer Holidays: Monday 20th July 2026 to Thursday 3rd September 2026
- Autumn Term First Day: Friday 4th September 2026
- October Half Term: Monday 26th October to Friday 30th October 2026
