Finkley Nurseries
Founded in 2017 by experienced early years professional Alison Dennis, Finkley Nurseries offers high-quality care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years. We create warm, engaging environments where children are encouraged to learn, grow and explore through play.
Our story began at Finkley Down Farm in Andover, and we’ve since grown to include nurseries in East Anton, Weeke (Winchester), Hudson Fields (Salisbury), Amesbury and we are soon to open in Overton in Autumn 2026. While many of our nurseries make daily visits to the award-winning Finkley Down Farm, what truly sets us apart is our commitment to getting children out and about, rain or shine.
A Unique Approach To Childcare
From trips to the library and local woodlands to visits with care home residents and other nearby attractions, we believe that real-world experiences build curiosity, confidence, and connection. Our nurseries are firmly rooted in community and nature, giving every child the chance to engage with the world around them.
Each Finkley Nursery is purposefully designed to support children’s development through free-flow play, both indoors and outside. With spacious gardens, mud kitchens, vegetable patches, hard-standing tracks for bikes, and calming sensory areas, we create environments that inspire independence, imagination and joy.
Finkley Nurseries is proud to be part of Attraction Nurseries, a growing group of childcare settings based in partnership with farm parks and family attractions across the UK, all sharing a passion for meaningful, inspiring early years education.

A Typical Day at Finkley Nurseries
Every day at Finkley Nurseries is carefully planned to support children from 3 months to 5 years as they grow, explore and gain confidence. From our calm, home-like baby rooms to our engaging toddler and preschool spaces, children are cared for in a nurturing environment where routines are shaped around individual needs. Mixed-age learning allows younger children to learn from their peers while older children develop confidence, empathy and leadership, with activities thoughtfully adapted to support every stage of development.
Learning happens naturally through play, with free-flow access to inspiring indoor and outdoor environments. Children explore creative arts, sensory play, construction, role play and quiet reading, alongside regular outings that build real-world understanding and independence. Nutritious meals are freshly prepared each day, and families stay connected through real-time updates on the Famly app, ensuring you feel involved, informed and confident in your child’s day from start to finish.
Food, Nutrition & Mealtimes
Nutritious, balanced food is a vital part of daily life at Finkley Nurseries. We work in partnership with Nursery Kitchen to provide five nutritionist-approved meals and snacks each day, including multi-course lunches and teas. Menus are designed by chefs and early years nutrition experts to support healthy growth, energy and concentration, while introducing children to a wide variety of flavours and foods.
Mealtimes are relaxed, sociable experiences that encourage independence, confidence and positive food relationships. Children are supported to serve themselves, try new foods and enjoy eating together with friends. We cater carefully for allergies, medical needs and cultural or religious requirements, and families can access menus, recipes and nutrition advice through our Parent Portal to support healthy habits at home.
Home & Nursery Working as One
We believe the strongest outcomes for children come from close partnerships between home and nursery. At Finkley Nurseries, families are supported with thoughtful resources that extend learning, wellbeing and emotional support beyond the nursery day. Our Lending Libraries encourage a love of reading, while our much-loved Experience Bags help families navigate real-life moments such as new siblings, moving house, starting school or coping with loss, offering practical tools, stories and reassurance.
All families also have access to our online Family Portal, bringing together carefully selected resources to enjoy at home. From multilingual story libraries and music-and-movement activities to recipes and wellbeing support, the portal is regularly updated in response to family needs. We value open communication and feedback, working together with parents to support every child’s journey with care, understanding and confidence.
